HERE WE GO! This is my review of my first week on THM!
I started the week excited but a little unsure of what to do. Fortunately for me the Trim Healthy Mama website has a resources page with a foundation menu.
Whew! While the concept of fueling meals made sense, when to have an E or S was a little confusing. Yes, the books suggest there is freedom in following this way of eating, I personally love the guidance on where to start.
The suggested menu had a lot to offer, but I tend to make the same breakfast and lunch all week, boring I know, but this is the way I have found to waste the least ingredients from my weekly grocery shopping.
I always focus on progress not perfection, so we do have a splurge night once a week. I found it relatively easy to still follow the E or S meal.
Breakfasts:
Sweat Pants Oatmeal – I was pleasantly surprised by this, I thought it would be bland, but it was so good, I am actually looking forward to making this as part of my regular meal rotation
Lunch:
Better Than Chef Salad – this was very good. I did not make the dressing suggested, instead I used infused oil and vinegar from a local shop.
5 minute Asian Salad – I am looking forward to having this one again, I made ahead (even though it was a quick fix meal) and everything had time to really mix together
Dinner:
Chicken Parmy – I make my own tomato sauce, so I don’t have to worry about added salt or sugar. But I did not like the coating on the chicken so I think I would leave it off when I make this again.
Creamy Herb Chicken – this will be in the rotation for sure, this was a real treat
My dinners had either veggies I canned or plain steam in a big.
All Day Sipper: I did have the Good Girl Moonshine everyday. Two Tablespoons of ACV was a bit much for me so I went down to one
Overall I am VERY PLEASED with the results.
DOWN 2 POUNDS and I am surprised I am NOT AS HUNGRY as I expected to be.
